Wright Brothers Memorial, Kitty Hawk, NC

Or, more properly, Kill Devil Hills, NC, in the Outer Banks, sometimes referred to as OBX (i saw the stickers for this area all the time when i lived in Charlotte, but never knew what they were for).

this sandy hill is now covered with grass and has trees on the western side

supposedly you could see the Albemarle Sound when the first flight occurred
